Heat and humidity will conjure up afternoon showers and thunderstorms as a frontal boundary slides into the region.

A stay shower will be possible through the early morning hours before a quiet period that stretches through the early afternoon.

During this time, sunshine will mix with clouds and temperatures will quickly rise to the mid 80s. With dewpoints in the upper 60s, it will feel humid and closer to 90 degrees.

Clusters of showers and thunderstorms will begin to develop during the mid-afternoon. These will track northeast through the area, persisting through the late afternoon and into the evening.

Thunderstorms will have the potential for frequent lightning, heavy downpours, and a few locally strong to severe wind gusts.

The rain should begin to diminish after sunset, though showers and a few storms may linger well into the evening. Overnight, mostly dry conditions should develop, though areas of fog will also be possible.

Evening temperatures will drop to the low 70s with overnight lows in the mid 60s.

Winds today will mainly be from the southwest with speeds of 5-10 mph. The wind will be more southerly during the night with speeds around 5 mph.

Monday: A few morning showers. Some afternoon sun. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.
