A dip in the jet stream will bring some atmospheric energy through the area tonight.

Out ahead of this area of unsettled weather, clouds will increase this morning and into the afternoon. A few glimpses of sunshine will be possible, especially early in the day. But overall, clouds will rule the skies.

Most of the day will be dry but a few scattered showers may begin to move into the area during the late afternoon hours.

Rain will increase this evening, with periods of showers or steadier, light rain. Showers will gradually taper off overnight, though it may not be until nearly dawn before most of the rain moves out.

Afternoon highs will make it into the upper 60s today. Winds will be nearly calm, with just a whisper of a breeze from the south or southeast.

Evening temperatures will slide back into the mid 50s with overnight lows around 50 degrees.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Monday: More clouds than sun with a few scattered showers. Morning lows near 50. Afternoon highs in the mid and upper 60s.

Tuesday: A morning shower. Then some sun. Morning lows near 50. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny. A few morning clouds. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs around 70.

Thursday: Mostly sunny. A few fair weather clouds. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.
