The City of Cortland has officially brought back the option of paying water and sewer bills online, announced at Tuesday’s Common Council meeting.

Lisa Henty, the city’s director of administration and finance, said on Tuesday that the online pay option returned after a hiatus for over a year.

Online payments for residents’ water and sewer bills will go through a new system called Doxo. Henty said there’s an option in payment that doesn’t include transaction fees, and that the Doxo system is secure for “residents to feel comfortable using” when paying their bills.

Henty noted that water and sewer bills for the fall season were recently sent out, noting residents should receive them soon. City residents, Henty added, still have options of paying their bills with a check/money order or in person at city hall on Court Street.
