A new reality of cooler weather is now firmly in place across the region.
Low pressure, associated with the remains of Tropical Storm Phillipe, will be located to our north over eastern Canada today. While direct precipitation from this system is not expected this far south, the low will still have a major role to play in today’s weather.
Cool west and west-southwest winds will be blustery today as they continue to bring cool air into the region. These winds will lead to some lake effect rain showers.
Rain from Lake Ontario will stay well north of the area, but some showers off Lake Erie will make their way eastward into the region.
These showers will be spotty and sporadic. The best chance for seeing some rain will come in the late morning and through the afternoon. Some areas may sneak through the day with little to no rain.
Between showers, some sun will poke in and out of the clouds, especially this morning.
The wind will reach speeds of 10-15 mph with gusts as high as 35 mph.
Afternoon high temperatures will only reach the low 50s, and some higher elevations may have a hard time getting beyond 50 degrees.
It will be quick drop through the 40s tonight as rain showers diminish and skies become partly cloudy.
Overnight lows will be down into the upper 30s with some isolated colder, frosty pockets.

Monday: Clouds, some sun, and a few showers. Morning lows in the mid and upper 30s with some isolated patchy frost possible. Afternoon highs around or just over 50 degrees.
Tuesday: Clouds, some sun, and maybe a brief shower. Morning lows near 40. Afternoon highs in the low and mid 50s.
Wednesday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the upper 30s. Afternoon highs in the low and mid 50s.
Thursday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a shower. Morning lows near 40. Afternoon highs in the low and upper 50s.
