Your Cortland County weather forecast for Friday, October 13, 2023:

A narrow wedge of high pressure will remain in place over the region today, even as low pressure and an associated front creep closer to the region from the southwest.

Today will start off mostly clear and cool, but fair weather clouds will quickly start to develop by the middle of the morning. The rest of the day will be a mix of sunshine, thin clouds aloft, and fair weather clouds.

Late in the afternoon, the thin clouds aloft may become thicker and develop into a background overcast as the fair weather clouds dissipate.

Clouds will continue increase and thicken tonight. No rain is expected until some showers start to move in towards dawn Saturday.

A steady northwest wind will blow at 5-10 mph which will keep temperatures a bit cooler than yesterday. Look for highs in the mid to perhaps upper 50s.

Nighttime temperatures will drop into the mid 40s this evening with an overnight low around 40 degrees.

Sunday: Clouds, a little sun, and some scattered showers. Morning lows near 40. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.

Tuesday: A few scattered showers. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.
