Man allegedly steals 1,000s of dollars from local beverage store (State Police)

A man was arrested on Oct. 5 after he allegedly stole 1,000s of dollars from a local beverage store, according to an Oct. 18 report.

The Oct. 18 New York State Police report stated that the theft investigation began in August 2021. Officers dispatched to a complaint that Matthew R. Grady, 34 of Cortland, was allegedly “taking money” while working at the Beer Depot in the town of Cortlandville, the report continued.

According to the Oct. 18 report, Grady allegedly stole over $5,000 while working at Beer Depot.

Grady was charged with third-degree grand larceny, a Class-D Felony. He was processed, arraigned and now due to appear in court at a later date.
