City Construction Update: Paving, various installations and more

A handful of projects are taking place in the city of Cortland on Tuesday (Oct. 31), including paving and various installation projects, according to Crown City Rising.

Projects are underway on Main Street and Groton Avenue. Details are below:

Main Street

  • Crews will be installing storm drainage systems on the west side of Main Street between Orchard Street and Groton Avenue.
  • Paving on West Court Street and Monroe Heights is expected to resume. West Court Street will be closed at Main Street, this includes access to Haskell Place. Paving is weather dependent.
  • Crews will be conducting test pit digs on Main Street from Clinton Avenue to Port Watson Street. This work is in preparation for the installation of new traffic signal poles.

Groton Avenue

  • Work to install sanitary sewer laterals is expected to resume Wednesday (Nov. 1) on Groton Avenue. Crews will be working between Monroe Heights and Pleasant Street. Groton Ave will be closed in the impacted work zone. Traffic should utilize the signed detour route.
