Cool air will slowly try to push into the region today behind yesterday’s weather system but with little success.

Mostly, temperatures today will be steady, sticking to the upper 30s throughout the day. This should be just warm enough to keep most of the daytime precipitation as rain.

There will not be widespread, steady precipitation like yesterday or Friday. Instead, there will be some spotty, on and off precipitation off Lake Ontario.

None of what falls will be heavy, and for the most part, the individual showers will be brief.

Temperatures will finally start to drop near and after sunset, but even then, it will be a slow drop at first. Evening temperatures will dip to the mid, then low 30s. Overnight lows will only just drop below 30 degrees.

Showers will turn to flurries and should persist through the overnight. Little to no snow accumulation is expected.

Winds will be out of the northwest today with speeds around 10 mph in the morning and just a bit lower in the afternoon and evening.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Tuesday: A few early flurries. Otherwise, more clouds than sun. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy. A few snow showers. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs around 30.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy. Some late snow showers. Morning lows in the low 20s. Afternoon highs in the low 30s.

Friday: Mostly cloudy. Perhaps a few late rain showers. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.
