County Sheriff: Cortlandville man ‘fails to provide medical attention’ for minor

A Cortlandville man was recently arrested on a warrant following an investigation into a situation where he ‘failed to provide medical attention’ for a minor, according to a report.

The Cortland County Sheriff’s report stated that on Sept. 23, officers responded to a residence on Forest Drive in the town of Cortlandville for a welfare check of a resident.

According to the report, Ereik L. Alexander, 27, had ‘failed to provide medical attention’ for a minor that suffered a severe burn.

Alexander was arrested on a warrant on Sunday (Dec. 3) and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and for making a punishable false written statement (both Class-A Misdemeanors).

Alexander was arraigned, processed and released. He is due to appear in Cortlandville town court on Dec. 18.
