A frontal boundary with an area of low pressure will move through the region today.

The front will be to our west to start the day, which means more mild temperatures to start. South winds will blow at around 10 mph this morning, pushing temperatures into the low 50s before noon.

However, the front will then move through, turning winds to the northwest and causing temperatures to fall into the mid 40s during the afternoon.

Occasional rain showers will fall through the morning and midday hours as the front moves through. As low pressure rides along the front, the showers will transition to steadier rain. Much of the afternoon will be locked into this rain.

Temperatures will drop into the 30s after the sun sets and the rain will start to mix with, then turn to snow.

As the evening turns to the overnight, temperatures will slide into the low 30s and snow will have an easier time accumulating, including on the roadways.

By Monday morning, anywhere from an inch or two in lower elevations to as much as 4-6 inches in higher elevations will have fallen.

The snow may continue right into early Monday morning, making for a sloppy early commute.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Monday: Steady snow early tapering to on and off snow showers. Breezy. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Tuesday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.

Wednesday: Clouds, some sun, and a few late flurries. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the low 30s.

Thursday: A few early clouds, then mostly sunny. Morning lows near 20. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.
