Low pressure will pull away from the area today, but lake effect will keep at least some snow showers lingering into the afternoon.

Steady snow will be most possible through the mid-morning hours as the low departs, but dry air may work in and cut the snow off even earlier in the morning.

Scattered snow showers will then develop off Lake Ontario and will make their way into the northern half of the region. There should be little to no accumulation from these. This snow will be most likely from midday into the late afternoon.

A few lingering flurries will be possible this evening, but before long, those too will end. Some breaks in the clouds may even develop during the overnight hours.

It will also be a cool, blustery day. Northwest winds will peak during the midday and early afternoon with speeds slightly over 10 mph. Wind gusts will occasionally eclipse 30 mph.

Temperatures will not change much during the day, bouncing between the mid and low 30s. Once the sun sets, temperatures will drop to the upper 20s with overnight lows getting down to the mid 20s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Tuesday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.

Wednesday: Clouds, some sun, and a few late flurries. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the low 30s.

Thursday: Sunshine and some occasional thin clouds. Morning lows in the upper 10s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Friday: Sunny with some thin clouds late. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.
