The Cortland County SPCA announced over the weekend that it is reaching full capacity, according to a Facebook page.

Due to a high capacity of cats and dogs, the County SPCA noted on Facebook that the organization is not accepting any owner surrenders at this time.

Below is a diagram of the capacity for the dogs and cats available at the County SPCA:

The County SPCA recommended visiting its website at Cortlandspca.org for preventative resources to help owners keep pets. People still in need to rehoming a pet can also find resources on the County SPCA website or visit the following the websites:

If an animal has been found, call the County SPCA at 607-753-9386. The shelter asks to not bring the animal to the shelter.

If people are looking to help, the County SPCA suggests adopting or becoming a foster. Adoption and foster applications can be found on the County SPCA website.
