NYSP: Woman forges checks, police need help identifying subject

The New York State Troop C Division in Ithaca is seeking public assistance in identifying a woman involved in multiple forgeries, according to a report.

State Police report stated that the female suspect forged checks at the same bank but two different branches on Nov. 30. One branch is in Tompkins County, while the other is in Cortland County. The name of the bank was not provided in the report.

According to the report, during both transactions, the female suspect pretended to be the customer and withdrew $7,600 in total. The withdrawals broke down to $3,600 each from the branches of the bank.

The investigation is ongoing. People with information on the female suspect are asked to call the State Police at 607-347-4463.
