City honors longtime firefighter for years of service (Audio Included)

A longtime city firefighter was honored for his years of service at Tuesday’s Cortland Common Council meeting.

City mayor Scott Steve and council members, along with Cortland fire chief Wayne Friedman, honored the late Vince Minnella for his 53 years of service as a firefighter, fire investigator and being instrumental in the merger of volunteer fire companies.

Minnella’s wife Jean and his son Christopher accepted the recognition in his honor. Minnella passed away on Dec. 17 of this year.
