Lewis R. “Slim” Seymour, 93 of Woodsedge Apts., Lansing, NY passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2023 in Rochester, NY after a brief illness.
Born September 14, 1930 in Virgil, NY he was the son of the late Lewis C. and Dorothy Conklin Seymour. Slim was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War from 1951-1953. He remained in the Reserves until 1957. He was employed with National Cash Register retiring in 1992. He loved western music, square dancing and going to the Cortland Country Music Park.
Slim was predeceased by his first wife, Luella in 1987 and his second wife, Harriet Jones in 2010 and his brother, Roger in 2000 and close friend and square dance partner, Lily Newton. He is survived by his sons, Steve (Mary) Seymour of Lansing, NY and David (Jeannie) Smith of Statesville, NC; his sister, Bonnie (Albert) Thorton of Harford Mills, NY; brother, Donald (Sharon) Seymour of Avon Park, FL; grandchildren, Amanda Gregg (Chris), Melissa Bergmark (Roy), Ryan Seymour (fiancé Tori Spalding), Kelly Brewer (Austin) and Wendy Smith (Blake Sutton), Greg Campbell (Shana); great grandchildren, Colton Justice, Walker Bergmark, Haley and Hunter Campbell; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, NY with Pastor Alison Schmied officiating. Burial will be in the Brookton Cemetery, Brooktondale, NY. Family and friends may call from 10-11 am prior to the service at the funeral home. A reception will follow at the Dryden Veterans Memorial Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Dryden Veterans Memorial Home Ritual Team, 2272 Dryden Road, Dryden, NY 13053.
