Kevin Fitch will continue his duties as the Cortland County Chair of the Legislature, as the county’s whole legislative body begins a new term. County legislators approved re-appointing Fitch as chair of the legislature at a meeting on Wednesday.

Fitch (R-LD-8) has been the legislature chairman since January 2022. He replaced legislator Paul Heider (R-LD-16), who stepped down from the position at the end of 2021.

A village of McGraw native, Fitch served as the town of Scott supervisor from 2010 to 2020 before becoming a legislator. As legislator in the eighth district, Fitch represents the towns of Preble, Scott and Homer.
