Here are some local high school varsity sports recaps from Thursday’s events:

Varsity Girls Basketball: Cincinnatus vs. Otselic Valley

The Cincinnatus Lady Lions improved their overall record to 4-7 after beating Otselic Valley with a score of 34-26. 

Cincinnatus was led by Sidney Glover (10 points), Cortney Scutt (10 points), Rachael Standish (9 points), Camryn Crothers (3 points), and Lydia Schutt (2 points). 

Otselic Valley was led by Miranda Hackett (10 points), Riley Bartlett (5 points), and Emma Rooker (4 points). 

Cincinnatus will be on the road against Harpursville on Monday (January 8th) at 6pm. 

Varsity Girls Basketball: McGraw vs. Madison

The McGraw Lady Eagles fell to an overall record of 4-5 after losing to Madison with a score of 42-23. 

McGraw was led by Hannah Wilson (9 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist & 2 steals) and Heather Magee (4 points, 5 rebounds & 1 assist). 

Madison was led by McKenzie LaMunion (11 points), Camryn Parmon (8 points), and Lauren Zehr (6 points). 

Up next, McGraw will travel to play Altmar-Parish-Williamstown this Saturday (January 6th) at 12:30pm. 

Varsity Boys Basketball: Homer vs. Skaneateles

The Homer Trojans lost 59-44 against Skaneateles at Homer high school Thursday night. With this result, Homer has fallen to an overall record of 4-4. 

Homer was led by Alex Voltra (12 points), Wyatt Wilbur (11 points), Kaden Durham (9 points), Max Franco (8 points), Tyler Van Etten (2 points), and Mitchell Earle (2 points). 

Skaneateles was led by Reid Danforth (23 points) and Charlie Girzadas (16 points).  

Homer’s next game will be played at Homer high school against Bishop Ludden this upcoming Tuesday January 9th. Tip off is at 6:45pm. 

Varsity Wrestling: Cortland vs. Morrisville-Eaton

The Cortland Purple Tigers lost to Morrisville-Eaton in a dual match Thursday evening with a team score of 60-11.

The Cortland-Homer Golden Eagles won 9-5 against Auburn in order to improve their overall record to 3-8. 

Cortland-Homer was led by Gabe O’Connor (3 goals & 3 assists), Liam O’Connor (1 goal & 4 assists), Declan Vail (2 goals), Preston Bowman (2 goals), Bodey McGrath (1 goal & 1 assist),  Cooper Swartz (2 assists), Brad Coffin (2 assists), and Owen Rizzo (1 assist).
