Today will be a quiet day between significant weather events: the snow from the weekend and high winds and rain tomorrow night.

A light northwest flow of air over the Great Lakes will keep clouds plentiful today. There may even be a few more stray flurries around, mainly during the first half of the morning.

A few brief glimpses of sunshine may also be possible here and there, but nothing more.

The clouds will break up a bit more this evening as winds swing around to the southeast. This will be brief, as new clouds ahead of Tuesday’s system will quickly build in. No precipitation is expected tonight.

Afternoon temperatures will get above freezing in most places, and many of the lower to mid elevation locations will reach the mid 30s. Getting beyond 35 degrees is probably too much to ask for, though.

Evening temperatures will drop back into the upper 20s with overnight lows around 20 degrees. The temperature may rise a couple of degrees before sunrise, back into the low 20s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Tuesday: Cloudy. Rain arriving late, possibly mixing with some snow early. Becoming very windy during the evening. Morning lows in the low 20s. Afternoon temperatures in the upper 30s with nighttime temperatures rising into the mid 40s.

Wednesday: Rain and snow showers. Windy, but not as strong as Tuesday night. Morning temperatures in the low 40s. Afternoon temperatures falling into the upper 30s.

Thursday: Clouds and a few rain or snow showers. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.

Friday: Cloudy with snow arriving late, possibly turning to rain. Morning lows in the low 20s. Afternoon temperatures highs in the mid 30s.
