County Sheriff: Man steals merchandise from local home center

A man was recently arrested after he stole merchandise from a local home center, according to a report.

The Cortland County Sheriff’s report stated that on Dec. 26, officers responded to Cincinnatus Home Center on State Route 26 in the town of Cincinnatus.

According to the report, Rick L. King, 44 of the town of Nelson, stole merchandise from the town’s home goods store and fled the scene before officers arrived.

A post on the Cincinnatus Home Center Facebook page stated that on Dec. 26, individuals “walked off” with a pair of boots and fled in a Ford F-150 crew cab. 

King was arrested on a warrant this past Friday (Jan. 5) and charged with petit larceny. He was arraigned, released and now due to appear in Cincinnatus town court on Jan. 17.

Toti, 24 of the village of Moravia, was arrested on Saturday (Jan. 6).

The county sheriff’s report stated that Toti stole merchandise from the Walmart store in Cortlandville. 

Toti was charged with petit larceny. He was processed, released and now due to appear in Cortlandville town court on Jan. 22.
