Another large, powerful storm system will impact our area tonight, but as a whole, will be less of an issue than Tuesday’s was.

The daytime hours will be mostly cloudy and quiet. Even the wind will not be too strong, coming in from the southeast at 5-10 mph.

Temperatures will rise into the mid 30s during the afternoon.

After sunset, the weather will ramp up.

Precipitation, mostly snow, will move in from the southwest shortly after sunset. The southeast winds will quickly increase as well.

Snow will continue throughout the evening, mixing with rain or even some sleet at times. Hilltops may see a couple inches of accumulation, but lower elevations should see little to no accumulation.

Winds will peak from about 8 PM to Midnight, still coming from the southeast. Top gusts will be in the 45-55 mph range, but a few locally higher gusts cannot be ruled out.

These winds will not be quite as strong as Tuesday’s winds, nor will they last as long. Sporadic tree damage and power outages can still be expected.

After midnight, precipitation will move out and wind speeds will drop. Temperatures will briefly rise to around 40 degrees, but will then dip into the upper 30s by Saturday morning.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Saturday: Breezy with a few snow showers possible. Maybe some morning sun. Morning temperatures in the upper 30s falling to the low 30s in the afternoon.

Sunday: Clouds, a little sun, and a few flurries. Still breezy. Morning lows in the upper 10s. Afternoon highs in the mid 20s.

Monday: Clouds and some sun. Morning lows in the mid 10s. Afternoon highs in the low and mid 20s.

Tuesday: Cloudy with some snow showers possible. Small chance for steady snow. Morning lows in the mid 10s. Afternoon highs in the mid 20s.
