The Cortland County Drug Task Force seized thousands of dollars in cocaine, synthetic cathinone and more, according to a report.
The county report stated that on Thursday, drug task force officers executed a narcotics search warrant at a residence on Charles Street in Cortland.
According to the report, the county drug task force found cocaine, methamphetamine, methadone, a synthetic cathinone (also known as molly), packaging materials, scales and an undisclosed amount of money.
The report noted that the street value of the drugs seized is approximately $4,200.
The county drug task force made two arrests during the early-morning hours of Thursday. Elijah P. Sharp, 56 of Cortland, was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of third-degree of criminal possession of a weapon (both Class-D Felonies); and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia and unlawful sale, possession, and/or use of dangerous substances or synthetic drugs (all Class-A Misdemeanors).
William R. Hart Jr., 50 of Cortland, was charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (a Class-B Felony).
Sharp and Hart were awaiting arraignment at the time of the county report released. The investigation is ongoing.
