High pressure will take over today, transitioning our weather from snowy to sunny.

Clouds will be plentiful through the morning and midday hours. Lake effect flurries will also be possible through the morning. The snow will gradually taper off and end by the middle of the day.

New snow accumulations should be limited to an inch or so of light, very fluffy snow.

Throughout the afternoon, clouds will break up as winds shift away from the lakes. If skies are not clear by sunset, they should become mostly clear during the evening.

Winds will be from the northwest this morning and midday with speeds up to 15 mph and gusts up to 30 mph. The wind will weaken and start to shift through the afternoon, eventually turning to the southwest during the evening.

Afternoon temperatures will peak in the low 20s with some of the northern hilltops struggling to get to 20 degrees.

Evening temperatures will quickly fall into the mid 10s. As the southwest wind takes over, temperatures will stabilize and only drop a couple more degrees overnight.

Low temperatures should be around 10 degrees with a few pockets reaching the single digits.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Monday: Morning sun. Increasing afternoon clouds. Morning lows around 10 degrees. Afternoon highs in the low 30s.

Tuesday: Cloudy with some afternoon snow. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Wednesday: Cloudy with rain showers. Maybe some icy or snowy pockets early. Morning lows near 30. Afternoon highs near 40.
