Your Cortland County weather forecast for Thursday, January 25, 2024:

Today will be spent between batches of rain with mild air firmly entrenched over the region.

Skies will be mostly cloudy throughout the day. During the morning hours, areas of fog and drizzle will continue to be possible. These should decrease as the morning goes on, though some higher elevations may hold onto some fog into the afternoon.

Winds will be light and variable today with speeds under 5 mph and a variety of wind directions. At times, the wind will simply be calm.

Afternoon highs will reach the mid 40s, which is about fifteen degrees above average.

Tonight, clouds will remain thick, but the evening hours will stay dry. Rain will then move in from the south late in the evening or around midnight.

The rain will fall for a couple of hours but should mostly be done by Friday morning. Fog will be possible both before and after the rain.

Evening temperatures will back off to around 40 degrees, then will rise through the low 40s and into the mid 40s by Friday morning.

Friday: Cloudy with a few scattered rain showers. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs around 50 degrees.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs near 40.

Sunday: Cloudy with a few snow showers with an outside chance for a larger snowfall. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Monday: Clouds and some sun. Morning lows in the low 20s. Afternoon highs in the upper 20s.
