Homer Police: Traffic stop leads to multiple arrests

A traffic stop in the village of Homer led to multiple arrests, according to a police report.

The Homer Police Department report stated that officers conducted a traffic stop on South West Street in the village on Wednesday (Jan. 31).

According to the report, officers stopped the vehicle due to a revoked registration and no insurance on the vehicle. It was also noted that none of the occupants of the vehicle were wearing seatbelts.

Brock M. Granger, 24 of Cortland, was one of the passengers. Granger, who had an arrest warrant for his charge of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and other charges out of the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office, provided a false name to officers. He provided his real name, was taken into custody and found with heroin in his possession.

Granger was charged with false personation, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and for no seat belt in a motor vehicle. He was turned over to county jail for his arraignment on the warrant, and is due to appear in Homer town court on Feb. 20.

Mohamed A. Siyow, 30 of Syracuse, was the driver of the vehicle. He was issued traffic tickets for operating a motor vehicle while registration was revoked and with no insurance (a misdemeanor). He is due to appear in Homer town court on Feb. 20.

Tina Fowler, 50, had a warrant for burglary and other charges out of the New York State Police. She was turned over to troopers after she was issued a traffic ticket.
