The Marathon Lady Olympians celebrated senior night this past Saturday (February 10th) at Marathon high school.
Five seniors (Marissa Allen, Abby Ensign, Kendre Euson, Megan Howard & Anna Hoyt) were celebrated at Saturday’s game.
The Lady Olympians played against Greene Central Saturday night, where they fell to an overall record of 13-6 after losing the game with a score of 63-46.
It was a close game, at first with Marathon getting a 31-30 lead at half time, but Greene Central was then able to outscore Marathon 22-10 in the third quarter to get a double digit lead.
Greene Central extended to their lead in the fourth quarter to ultimately win the game, and spoil Marathon’s senior night.

Marathon was led by Abby Ensign (22 points), Anna Hoyt (10 points), Addison Oram (10 points), Cassandra Forrest (2 points), and Catherine Newkirk (2 points).
Greene Central was led by Claire Flanagan (20 points), Josie Dutcher (16 points), Abilene Yahner (10 points), Cali Knapp (7 points), Mia Yahner (6 points), and Lyla Biefeldt (3 points).
According to Marathon’s athletic calendar, this was their last game of the regular season.
There will be a seeding meeting for the upcoming Section IV playoff tournaments this Wednesday (February 14th).
