County Sheriff’s Blotter: Officers conduct DWI arrests

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office recently conducted a couple of driving while intoxicated arrests.

Below are the reports:

Jacqueline R. Moore

Moore, 31, of Freeville, was arrested on Sunday (Feb. 18).

The county sheriff’s report stated officers discovered that Moore was operating a vehicle while “under the influence of alcohol” following a traffic stop at Route 392 and Palmer Road in Virgil.

Moore was charged with DWI, driving with .08% or more of blood-alcohol content and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation (misdemeanor), and failure to stop for a stop sign and no/improper signal (violations).

Moore was released and is now due to appear in Virgil town court on Feb. 27.

Daniel N. McMahon

McMahon, 33, of Marathon, was arrested on Sunday (Feb. 18).

The county sheriff’s report stated that McMahon went to the county’s public safety building (on Greenbush Street in Cortland) to speak with officers about a previous incident.

According to the report, it was discovered that McMahon was driving under the influence of alcohol.

McMahon was charged with DWI (a misdemeanor). He was released and is now due to appear in Cortland city court on March 1.
