County Sheriff: Individual violates order of protection ‘multiple times’

An individual was recently arrested after violating an order of protection “multiple times,” according to a report.

The Cortland County Sheriff’s report stated that Dennis M. Murray, 45, of Cortland, violated a full stay-away order of protection “multiple times over the course of several days.” Murray also contacted the victim through a third party, the report continued.

Murray was arrested on a warrant on Monday (March 18) and charged with six counts of second-degree criminal contempt (a misdemeanor). The warrant for Murray’s arrest was issued on March 14.

Murray was arraigned, released and is now due to appear in Cortlandville town court on April 3.
