The McGraw Central School District is proposing a capital improvement project that totals over $17 million, according to a newsletter.
McGraw CSD is proposing a $17,787,000 million project with the hopes of making upgrades at its high school and elementary school buildings, along with improvements to the bus transportation facility.
According to Troy Bilodeau, McGraw CSD’s acting superintendent, the school qualifies for aid on the cost of the project through the New York State building aid. Bilodeau, via the newsletter, noted that the district is seeking approval from taxpayers for $15,537,000.
Bilodeau continued by saying the remainder of the project could potentially be funded through McGraw CSD’s capital reserves, with an estimated tax impact less than 0.25%.
McGraw CSD’s proposed funding for the project comes out to 86.75% from state building aid and 13% from capital reserves, including the less than quarter percentage from local shares.
Below is a list of proposed work for the McGraw’s capital improvement project. If approved, Bilodeau anticipates the project would begin in spring 2025 and conclude in fall 2026.

A public presentation and hearing on the proposed project will be held prior to the April 4 board of education meeting at 6:30 p.m. The presentation and hearing is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the high school library.
The community vote on the proposed capital improvement is slated for April 16 from noon to 8 p.m. at the high school auditorium foyer.
