Low pressure is stalled out along the New England coast and will keep our weather unsettled today and for the next few days.

Skies will be cloudy throughout the day. Some of the clouds may be low enough to settle over the hilltops, causing thick fog in the higher elevations at times.

Spits of precipitation will be possible at any time and will persist on and off throughout the day. Most of what falls will be rain, but some snow may mix in early this morning and again tonight.

Snow will be most likely during the nighttime hours, but accumulations are generally not expected.

Temperatures will rise at an afternoon high near or just above 40 degrees. Evening temperatures will slip back into the mid 30s with a low hovering around 30 degrees.

Unlike yesterday, winds today will be rather light with speeds around 5 mph. At first, the wind will be from the east, but over the course of the day, it will swing around to the north, and then to the northwest tonight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Friday: Rain and snow showers. Morning lows in near 30. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.

Saturday: A few more rain showers, mixing with a little snow early. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs near 40.

Sunday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the upper 40s.

Monday (Eclipse Day): A mix of sun and clouds. Small chance for a brief shower. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.
