The Cortland Free Library is bringing on interim directors to fill the void for a few months.

According to the library’s April newsletter, Kay Zaharis and Priscilla Berggren-Thomas were announced as Cortland library’s co-interim directors, effective April 22.

Zaharis and Berggren-Thomas will work together until the library finds a replacement for former director Jen Graney. Graney announced her resignation in the March newsletter.

Zaharis returns after she was Cortland Free Library’s director from 2003 to 2013. Berggren-Thomas retired as the director of the Phillips Free Library in Homer last August after 16 years at the helm.

Noted in this month’s newsletter, “We are grateful for their deep knowledge of libraries, their support of our library staff and their undeniable commitment to the community, that they would step out of retirement for a few months.”
