Moisture associated with a decaying low pressure system over the Great Lakes will try to push into the region today, but will have a tough time.

Skies will be cloudy throughout the day, but rain will not start to even attempt to fall until the afternoon hours.

Once the rain does try to push in, it will first have to overcome dry air left behind by the early week high pressure system that was overhead.

There is a chance that rain will not be able to reach the surface until after sunset.

Rain will increase this evening and overnight but should remain showery and light.

Winds will be from the southeast today at speeds of 5-10 mph. Afternoon highs will mainly be in the upper 50s.

Evening temperatures will drop slowly into the low 50s with an overnight low in the mid 40s. Southeast winds will remain steady.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Thursday: On and off showers. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Friday: A few late showers. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs near 60.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy. Maybe a stray spit of rain. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy. Maybe a stray spit of rain. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs near 50.
