One final piece of atmospheric energy will pass through the area today before drier, sunnier weather gradually returns.

Any early sunshine this morning will quickly be replaced by clouds. Most of the day will remain mostly cloudy.

The best chance for showers will come during the midday and afternoon hours. The showers will be scattered and short lived but could contain a brief downpour and even some small hail.

Some areas, however, may not see any rain at all today.

Like yesterday, winds will be breezy today from the west-northwest. Wind speeds will be around 15 mph with gusts of 30-40 mph.

The wind will keep temperatures at bay with highs struggling to get much beyond 50 degrees. Higher elevations in the northern parts of the county will likely stick to the upper 40s.

Tonight, winds will weaken, and skies will turn partly cloudy to, at times, mostly clear.

Temperatures will quickly fall through the 40s this evening with lows Sunday morning in the low 30s. Most areas will end up at or below freezing.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Sunday: Morning clouds redevelop, then dissipate during the afternoon. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.

Monday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.

Tuesday: Increasing clouds. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.

Wednesday: Rain showers likely. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.
