Cortland Purple Tigers win Partigianoni Tournament with two shutout victories (photos included)

The Cortland Purple Tigers hosted the annual Partigianoni Tournament on Saturday (April 20th) at the Gutchess Lumber Sports Complex in Cortlandville. 

The Purple Tigers won the tournament with two shutout victories. They beat Dryden in the first round with a score of 23-0 and then beat Moravia with a score of 3-0 in the championship game.

Cortland was led by Antonio Terrazas (3 runs, 3 hits, 4 RBI’s & 9 strikeouts thrown), Ethan Johnson (4 runs, 2 hits & 2 RBI’s), Jaheim Robinson (3 runs, 1 hit & 2 RBI’s), Caden Albright (3 runs, 1 hit & 1 RBI), Zach Muir (3 runs), Owen Johnson (1 run, 1 hit & 2 RBI’s), Danny Jackson (2 runs & 1 RBI), Sean Rogoff (1 run, 1 hit & 1 RBI), Tyler Thomas (1 run), Cal Albright (1 run), Mason Kurtz (1 run), and Carter Urtz (1 RBI). 

Dryden was led by Christopher Greene (1 hit), Brayden Hale (1 strikeout thrown), and Izah Hutchings (1 strikeout thrown).

Cortland was led by Caden Albright (1 run, 1 hit & 1 RBI), Danny Jackson (1 run, 1 hit & 1 RBI), Owen Johnson (1 hit & 1 RBI), Ethan Johnson (1 run), Antonio Terrazas (1 hit), and Cal Albright (10 strikeouts thrown). 

Moravia was led by Luke Landis (2 hits), Eli Landis (1 hit), Jairen Francis (1 hit), and Noah Corbett (7 strikeouts thrown). 

 

With these two results Cortland improved to an overall record of 7-2. 

Cortland’s next game will be played at the Gutchess Lumber Sports today (April 22nd) against Jamesville-Dewitt at 1pm.
