The deadline to apply for the City of Cortland’s annual “No Mow May” program is quickly approaching.

City residents have until Friday (April 26) to register by either calling the code enforcement office at 607-844-7166 or completing a form here. Once a resident has registered for the program, they will receive a certificate of participation.

Registering for the “No Mow May” program allows residents to grow out their lawns for the entire month of May. The program goes until May 31, and residents have until June 7 to mow their lawns.

The free-of-charge program is a “conservation initiative to promote healthy habitat for people & pollinators,” according to a description.

Further information on the program can be found here. A “No Mow May” flier can be viewed here.
