A warm front will approach the region today, leading to clouds and showers that will temporarily send temperatures back a small step.

Most of the day will be locked into cloud cover, but if some sunshine manages to filter through, it will do so earlier in the morning.

Rain, on the other hand, should hold off until the latter half of the afternoon. On and off showers are likely, but not until then.

A steady south wind will blow with speeds increasing to 10-15 mph. A few gusts may get over 30 mph, especially over higher elevations.

Afternoon highs will top out in the mid to perhaps upper 50s thanks to the clouds and incoming showers.

The evening will turn mostly dry, but scattered showers and perhaps a few thunderstorms will redevelop overnight as the warmer air makes a stronger push toward the region. These may continue into early Sunday morning.

Evening temperatures will initially drop to the mid 40s, but may rise back toward 50 degrees by sunrise.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Sunday: Sun and clouds. A few scattered showers or thunderstorms. Morning lows near 50. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.

Monday: Sun and clouds. Maybe an isolated shower or thunderstorm. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs near 80 degrees.

Tuesday: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.

Wednesday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a shower. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.
