April will come to an unsettled end as a cold front crosses the region this afternoon.

The morning will mostly be dry with only a widely isolated stray shower here or there. Clouds will already be in place through, with limited sunshine at most.

Rain showers will increase during the early afternoon and a few thunderstorms should develop as well. The best chance for rain will probably be during the mid afternoon hours.

Any thunderstorms that develop will have moderate amounts of lightning, some briefly heavy rain, and maybe some gusty winds. Severe thunderstorms are generally not expected.

Clouds and showers will linger into the evening hours. The showers will taper to drizzle overnight and should mostly end by Wednesday morning.

Temperatures will be mild again today, despite the clouds, with highs reaching the low and mid 70s.

Nighttime temperatures will dip into the upper 50s during the evening and mid 50s overnight.

Light southwest winds are expected ahead of the front, turning to the northwest behind the front. Wind speeds will mostly stay around 5 mph.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Wednesday: Some morning clouds. Increasing afternoon sun. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 60s.

Thursday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the upper 40s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.

Friday: More clouds than sun. Morning lows in the upper 40s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.

Saturday: Scattered showers possible. Morning lows near 50. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.
