A father and two siblings were charged in the death of a family member, according to a report.
The City of Cortland Police report stated that on Oct. 19, 2023, officers responded to 184 Main St. (Apt. 1) for a death investigation. Once on scene, officers found Brandon Storie, 33, dead in his bedroom, the report noted.
According to the report, city police investigated the death and discovered it to be suspicious. Following an autopsy, Brandon Storie’s death was ruled a homicide.
On April 19 of this year, the case went to the Cortland County grand jury. This led to David H. Storie, Brandon’s father, being indicted by the grand jury.
David Storie was arrested and charged with second-degree manslaughter and first-degree endangering the welfare of an incompetent/physically disabled person. Michael S. Storie and Nicholas A. Storie, Brandon’s siblings, each received a first-degree endangering the welfare of an incompetent/physically disabled person charge.
David, Nicholas and Michael Storie were all being held while awaiting arraignment in city court at the time this report was released.
