High pressure will be in firm control of the weather today.

Skies will be mostly clear throughout the daytime hours. Only a few passing thin clouds are expected here and there.

Winds will be nearly calm with speeds under 5 mph. Any gentle breezes will have their direction determined by local topographic features.

The sunshine and lack of and incoming cool air will allow temperatures to rise back toward the 70s. Look for afternoon highs mainly in the low 70s, but with a few warmer pockets flirting with 75 degrees.

Tonight, clouds will increase during the evening hours and thicken overnight.

The evening will stay dry, but between midnight and sunrise Wednesday, some scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will be possible. Any storms will have the potential for some heavy downpours.

A light south wind will pick up after sunrise. Wind speeds will stay around 5 mph.

Evening temperatures will slowly fall through the 60s and into the 50s. Overnight lows will reach the low 50s.

Wednesday: Sun and clouds with a stray shower or storm. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Thursday: Showers and possibly a few thunderstorms. Morning lows in the upper 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.

Friday: Cloudy with prolonged periods of showers. Morning lows in the upper 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy, but optimistic for dry weather. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.
