“We played much better defensively in game 2,” said coach Hoyt. “Offensively, we took advantage of some mistakes by Whitney Point and had discipline at the plate, drawing 11 walks. Colton Oram made a terrific catch in the top of the 5th to get the second out. He went from his shortstop position to deep in the left-center gap to make the play to hold the runner on third before Dan Merihew struck out Maddox Kesley for the final out of the game.”

Marathon was led by Camdyn Kashuba (2 runs & 1 hit), Barrett Trabucco (2 runs, 1 hit & 2 RBI’s), Blake Birdsall (1 hit & 2 RBI’s), Tucker Trabucco (1 run, 1 RBI & 3 strikeouts thrown), Gabriel Spizzirri (2 runs & 1 hit), Matthew Washbourne (2 runs), Austin Poth (2 runs), Colton Oram (2 runs, 2 hit & 4 RBI’s), and Daniel Merihew (1 strikeout thrown).
