City of Cortland’s active sidewalk program will receive additional funding.

An additional $20,000 funding will be put into Cortland’s sidewalk program. City mayor Scott Steve said the program's funding pot was empty and in need of additional funding.

The city’s sidewalk program provides funds to assist homeowners with a portion of the cost of “old and deteriorated” sidewalk repairs and replacements, according to a description of the program.

This year’s sidewalk program started out with $20,000. Fully committed to city residents, the program has once again received a high number of applicants. It has led to the creation of a waiting list.
