County Sheriff’s Office: Fourth arrest made in alleged armed robbery

A fourth individual has been linked to the alleged armed robbery at the Top Ten Smoke Shop in Cortlandville on March 4, according to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office report.

The county sheriff’s office extradited Sky F. Volckhausen, 18, of Ithaca on March 23 with the assistance of the Klickitat County Sheriff’s Office in the state of Washington, where investigators said Volckhausen fled to after the alleged armed robbery.

On Tuesday, county sheriff’s deputies took Volckhausen into custody and was arraigned at Cortland County jail.

Volckhausen has been charged with first-degree robbery (a Class-B felony), second-degree burglary (a Class-C felony), third-degree grand larceny (Class-D Felony) and fourth-degree conspiracy (a Class-E felony).

Volckhausen is being held on $10,000 cash and $30,000 bond at the county jail. Volckhausen is due back in Cortlandville Town Court at 11:30 a.m. April 13.

This marks the fourth arrest made by county sheriff’s deputies in connection with the alleged armed robbery. The sheriff’s office had previously arrested two adult suspects and a juvenile suspect between March 5 and 7.

Burhans noted the investigation has concluded. He added that he “doesn’t believe” there’s a connection or relation between the suspects.
