Homer varsity girls basketball senior Catherine Apker recorded her 1,000th-career point against Hannibal Thursday evening.
Apker’s leap over 1,000 points came on a layup with 44.6 seconds left in the third quarter.
Apker is also the Trojans’ first girls or boys basketball player to reach 1,000 career points. She passed former Homer girls basketball standout Gracie Patriarco, the Trojans’ previous all-time leading scorer (990 points).

On Thursday against the Warriors, Apker finished with a team-high 22 points, putting her career total at 1,004.
