Construction season has officially begun in the city of Cortland, which means parking will be limited for the time being.

Monday is the first day of the city’s continuation into its Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) projects. Cortland started working on projects last year.

According to the Crown City Rising website, Construction crews will begin to excavate for water and sewer line replacements. Work will take place at the intersection of Court Street, West Court Street and Main Street.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane – and parking on Court Street, West Court Street and Main Street will be restricted at this time.

Contractors will also be removing trees along Main Street, noted on the Crown City Website.

City mayor Scott Steve is asking everyone to commute accordingly, follow detour directions and be mindful of construction workers.
