A woman found with intent to sell heroin, methamphetamine and other drugs was released from Cortland County Jail on Tuesday.

Cortland County judge David Alexander granted the release of Shauna M. Hamilton, 40 of Cortland. She has multiple drug-related charges from two separate arrests – each executed by the County Drug Task Force – that span almost a year.

According to court documents, Hamilton’s first arrest occurred at a Pendleton Street residence in Cortland on June 6 of last year. From this arrest, she is facing two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with an intent to sell (both Class-B Felonies), and two counts of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia for packaging and scales (both Class-A Misdemeanors).

Investigation from Hamilton’s first arrest allegedly found 95 wax glassine envelopes of heroin, three separate methamphetamine containers and empty sandwich baggies, digital scales, an undisclosed amount of money and other confidential items.

Hamilton’s second arrest took place at a Cedar Street residence, also in Cortland, on April 14

Along with allegedly being in possession of three bags of fentanyl and cocaine, the task force also investigated Hamilton’s Cedar Street residence and found 15 grams of methamphetamine, packaging material, scales and undisclosed amount of money, according to a report.

From her second arrest, Hamilton was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (a Class-B Felony), two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (a Class-A Misdemeanor), and two counts of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia (also a Class-A Misdemeanor).

Details on Hamilton’s next appearance in county court have yet to be determined.
