SUNY Cortland will be holding its graduate and undergraduate commencement ceremonies today and Saturday at Park Center Alumni Arena.

The graduate commencement ceremony is scheduled for today at 7 p.m. The undergraduate commencement ceremonies – all slated for Saturday – are 9:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

SUNY Cortland is encouraging students to inform family and friends attending the commencements this weekend to take alternate routes into the city.

Due to the ongoing construction on Main Street in Cortland, the university is recommending families and friends to detour around the construction.

Those traveling through the city from the south are strongly encouraged to take Port Watson to Tompkins Street in order to arrive at the respective commencement ceremony on time.

The email noted that while there’s a recommendation to take alternate routes around the Main Street construction, SUNY Cortland is still encouraging visitors to take advantage of the downtown businesses that are open and operating.

Street parking is limited on Main Street, but free parking in the city’s municipal lots are available to visitors. A breakdown of parking in the downtown area can be seen here.
