The Cincinnatus girls soccer squad is officially set for state tournament competition.

The Lions (19-0-1) will take on Section IV’s Edmeston/Morris (14-2-2) in the Class D regional round at 2 p.m. Saturday at Nottingham High School. The winner of this game moves on to the state semifinal round on Nov. 11 at Homer High School.

Cincinnatus is looking to make its second-straight trip to the Class D state final. The Lions fell short to Section XI’s Mount Academy in last year’s state final.

The Lions are coming off a 1-0 win over Bishop Ludden in the Section III Class D championship game this past weekend. It was the program’s second sectional title in a row.

The latest New York State Sportswriters Association rankings show the Lions at No. 5 in the state in Class D, while Edmeston/Morris is ranked second. Full state rankings can be found here.
