After winning their play-in game against No.19 seed Beaver River Tuesday night, Cincinnatus (No.14 seed) went on the road to play in the first round of the Section III Class C tournament against No.3 seed West Canada Valley Wednesday night.

Cincinnatus lost the game with a score of 69-38.

“This was a tough one. We couldn’t really get anything established offensively, and they pushed the ball up the court and really showed their athleticism,” stated Cincinnatus head coach Jim Halstrom.

Halstrom added that, “West Canada Valley is as good a team as we’ve faced in a couple seasons. Very big, fast and disciplined.

Halstrom continued by saying, “our guys really did about all they could, we fought until the end and never quit, and I’m extremely proud of them for that”.

Cincinnatus was led by Canden Stafford (17 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals & 2 blocks), John Schuyler (12 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals & 1 block), TJ Walker (5 points, 3 rebounds & 1 assist), Zack Streichert (2 points & 1 steal), and Jack Stafford (2 points & 1 steal).

Canden (Stafford) has been a very successful player in our program, he finished his scholastic career with great stats and turned into a solid leader on the floor.”
