The new Cortland County courthouse steps are now open to the public after a handful of years of planning, supply issues, delays and construction.

The new courthouse steps were unveiled during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday. The updated steps include weather controls to keep the steps clean in the winter, as well as the lighting and lighting controls. The heated steps mean they no longer need to be salted, and the front level of steps and original lighting lamps have been restored.
